KLMS MPA December 09 IMPORTANT Reminders

Important Announcements Below!

Greetings Fellow Band Parents!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Braided Breads. Thanks for your support of this tasty fundraiser. When you see the Board members please give us feedback on your experience with this product for future fundraisers. The MPA is currently considering offering some for sale at the Winter Concert due to the requests we have been getting to have some available before the holidays. If you are interested in purchasing more, send an email with your requests. We will check with the representative on availability and do our best to meet those needs on a first come first serve basis.

The following are a list of events and parent info regarding those events.

  1. WINTER CONCERT, Tuesday, December 15th 7-9pm  (students to arrive 6pm) MPA meeting prior to concert: arrive 6:30-6:45pm

The first band concert is the Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 15th. A concert program will be printed; ads can be purchased by parents to send messages to their kids. Businesses can also advertise. All the details are contained in the flyer attached to this email. The deadline for ordering/purchasing ads is Friday, Dec. 4th. Thanks to Kristine Kello for taking on this project.

To further get us into the holiday spirit, Poinsettias will be sold which will provide a decorative element to the stage during the concert. The deadline for ordering the plants is Monday, December 7th. Lynne Murrell is coordinating the flower sales. Thanks, Lynne! Again, all orders and monies are due at that time. Details are also attached.

  2. POST CONCERT RECEPTION: As a finale to the concert, students/families/friends partake of the post-concert reception in the gym. Each band student’s family should bring something, 2-liter bottle of soda, lemonade, water, or tray of goodies to share, to ensure there will be enough for everyone. Denise Boyce has graciously offered to be in charge of the reception setup. Thank you! We could use two more parents to help her out. It is an EASY job.

  3. MPA MEETING & MPA Business: Thanks so much to all those whom have volunteered for the Band Programs, the MPA and for Mr. Poe. It would be great if we could get more 6th and 7th grade parents involved with the upcoming events. Also, we still need three Board positions filled for next school year. If you are interested in a leadership position for the next school year let one of the current Board members know ASAP in person or by email. We need to have parents that will be able to assist with event planning next year to co-chair this year for a successful transition.

*On the night of the Winter Concert please arrive 10-15 minutes before the concert starts so we can have a forum to review the MPA budget and update the membership on Band Program details.

On behalf of Mr. Poe and MPA Board, our best wishes to everyone for a bountiful Holiday season and restful break. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who help make this music program exceptional!

If you have any questions, please give any of the Board members a call.
